Inferno is a fictional superhero who is a member of the Mighty Crusaders.

Inferno is one of three circus performers who decide to turn to crime; the others are Twisto the Rubber Man and Flexo the Strongman. These three characters embark on a series of crimes, the last being the death of Steel Sterling, the detective with the steel-hard body. Learning the address of Steel's alter ego, John Sterling, the three go to his home and shoot Steel in the back through a window. Steel's steel-hard skin saves his life, though, and, realizing his double identity has endangered the lives of his friends, fakes his death by placing a dummy of himself in his coffin after he has escaped from his grave. He then goes after the three men, and during the pursuit, Flexo falls to his death. Twisto and Inferno hole up in a hotel, and Twisto shifts his face into a piglike form. He goes back out onto the streets and is shot and killed by a police officer who's mistaken him for the criminal Pig-Pan Woods. Woods himself puts on a costume and takes the alias the Viper. Inferno, the only survivor of the trio, has his ife saved by steel and uses his flame power to help bring the Viper to justice.
