He treats life as a game, where he is the main character who needs to be leveling up (this approach helps him cope with life better). He makes experiments on himself, fixes favorable ones as habits.

Biography edit

1998-2001 edit

Ilya Hryhoryeu was born naturally on May 25, 1998, in Gomel, Belarus. He is the son of Elena Hryhoryeva (3 October 1971 – 17 June 2014) and unknown father. Ilya spent part of his childhood in Tsyerakhowka, Belarus, where he lived in a poor, female-dominated family. His mother worked as a nurse at the Gomel City Clinical Hospital.

He was raised mainly by his mother, with unsuccessful contributions from several stepfathers. They were a necessary measure for financial support.

2001-2003 edit

Kindergarten. Ilya had to miss the last year of kindergarten, due to staying in a sanatorium with his mother, about which no one in kindergarten was warned and Ilya was expelled.

2004 edit

Primary school. Ilya, being 6 years old, studied in the first grade at the first primary school at Tsyerakhowka. After a pause in the practice of socialization, it was hard for Ilya.

2005 edit

Ilya was moved into a two-bedroom apartment on the ground floor at Mazurova 4, Gomel, following his mother, as soon as there were at least some living conditions there. A month after the school year had begun, he joined the second grade at Secondary School No. 59, knowing no one there.

In August-September first time outside of Belarus in Italy and Origgio, Italy for a month as part of the Rest and Recuperation programs, Chernobyl Children International.

2006 edit

Third grade. A younger sister was born on 20 July 2006, Alexandra Hryhoryeva. Most of mother's attention was paid to her from the start, Ilya was in the background. Alexandra's father, an alcoholic and smoker, was a constant source of conflict for Ilya, with disagreements often escalating to physical confrontations.

In August-September, Ilya travelled to Italy for the second and unfortunately, the last time. Ilya did not even understand basic Italian this time either, and most often communicated through flyers or answered at random.

Eventually, Ilya befriended some classmates from school, with whom he shared a courtyard situated amid high-rise buildings. Aside from school, Ilya spent the majority of his time in the streets, either on his own or engaging in games with his peers.

During most of his primary school holidays, Ilya was dispatched to the countryside to stay with his grandmother and aunt. Where he was exploited to the fullest in all the estates at their disposal, particularly during the summer.

2007-2009 edit

2009 edit

First personal computer as part of a trade off with his grandmother — residing in a sanatorium in return for the computer. It was then that he began getting right and wrong answers through the internet. His family was not known for their explaining or answering capabilities. What a time to be alive!

Street games began to lose their appeal as computer took hold. In a bad way, he was consumed by video games.

2010-2012 edit

2013 edit

Upper secondary education. Ilya, at the sunset of the 9th grade, as soon as he found out where the classmate he was in love with would go, decided to try to follow her. There were only a couple of weeks to prepare, but it was enough to enroll in the Gomel State Regional Lyceum for a physics and mathematics track.

2014 edit

Ilya somehow celebrated his 16th birthday, completed a difficult 10th grade and was stunned by the approaching death of his mother, not at all understanding what he could do about it except to avoid reality, he frequently sought escape by immersing himself in his computer and video games.

Ilya and his younger sister Alexandra were taken to their aunt's apartment to their older cousin on June 16, 2014, while the "adults figure things out" (they were just getting drunk). A disgusting sleepless night with a premonition of the inevitable. Their mother died on June 17, 2014 from lung cancer (ironically, she never smoked) after a failed operation to remove one lung. Ilya could not escape from such a collision with reality, he refused to go to the cemetery. He was left alone on the floor in his room of an empty apartment and screamed himself to sleep from exhaustion and inability to hold on.

Ilya became an orphan.

Ilya does not remember well the following months before the beginning of the 11th grade. Only the facts that he began to live alone in the same apartment, that he and his sister Alexandra were taken under the care of his mother's younger sister, Alexandra lived with her.

The 11th grade was intense, the teachers knew, one classmate knew too. Everyone else was in the dark. Ilya continued to live alone until he broke his leg in physical education class in February 2015 and the lyceum director received a complaint from a crazy neighbor in the vestibule that I broke my leg against her wall. Ilya was forced to live in his aunt's small apartment, where his sister Alexandra already lived.

The feeling of alienation did not leave Ilya. Continuing his studies at the lyceum as if nothing had happened helped Ilya to cope better. Ilya had a couple of good friends at the lyceum, Dmitry Kulinenko and Gleb Lebedkin.

2015 edit

University. Ilya was brought to Minsk with classmates for the first time in 11th grade for an open day at Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies, BSU, where he enjoyed his first encounter with the city and communication with students so much that Ilya decided that he would enroll here. Ilya, without proper training (through his fault), passed the Centralized testing worse than he could have. Ilya had enough points to enroll without using the orphan privilege, which allowed him to enroll anywhere, regardless of the points within the country. And at the end of August of the same year, Ilya moved into the dormitory on his own, which was a five-minute walk from the faculty. Some of Ilya's classmates also enrolled in this faculty. In the summer, Ilya contacted one of them, Alexey Moiseenko, and they agreed that they would live in the same room. They were good friends during the first years of their studies.

In general, Ilya did not fare well in his studies. The exception was in the mathematical and computer sciences, a subjects in which he excelled. This was because he did not see the need or understand why to strive in other subjects.

2016 edit

The first academic year concluded with a conflict involving the teacher of the primary computing class. As a result, Ilya was barred from taking the exam, and instructed to retake it at the onset of the following academic year.

Ilya decided in the summer to prove them wrong and went overboard in this regard — he developed a strategy for successful study within the university and his own growth. The feedback from teachers in mathematics and computer science only helped this. Ilya has developed a reputation among teachers. It helped with the grades.
