"I Was a Sailor" is a single released on May 23, 2024 by Swedish indie pop band Miike Snow,[1] initially debuted in 2019 at the Just Like Heaven festival.[2] It was their first song after an 8-year-long break.[3][4]
Critical reception
editSandra B. Olinger of Grimy Goods wrote that "with beautiful instrumentals and a child-like choir in the chorus, the song has an eerie yet soulful vibe."[5] Cleber Facchi of Música Instantânea wrote, in Portuguese, that "there are hummable melodies and voices, a structure that is completed by the insertion of beats that match the group's first records."[6]
