Henry James Moodie (born 7 April 2004), known professionally as Henry Moodie, is an English singer and songwriter. In August 2022, he released his debut song, You Were There For Me, which peaked at number 39 on the UK Singles Chart. Moodie released his debut EP, In All of My Lonely Nights, in January 2024.[1]
Early life
editHenry James Moodie was born in Guildford. He has a sister. He began to write his own songs at age 11. At 14, he attended songwriting sessions in London on weekends.[2]
He left school at the age of 16 to play in a band for a while and to complete a songwriting course in Fullham. Before he released his own songs, he first posted cover songs on TikTok and other internet platforms.
Career
editMoodie released his debut song "You Were There For Me" in August 2022. The song peaked at number 39 on the UK Singles Chart. At the end of the year Moodie toured with The Vamps.[3]
His Second single "Drunk Text" was released in January 2023. The song peaked at number 56 in United Kingdom. A year after the songs original release it started gaining attention in Southeast Asia, peaking at number 1 in Malaysia and charting in other countires in the area.[4][5]
His third single "Eighteen" was released in April 2023.[6] His fourth single "Pick Up The Phone" was released in June 2023.[7] The song peaked at number 88 in United Kingdom.
His fifth single "Closure" was released in October 2023.[8] His sixth single "Fight or Flight" was released in November 2023.[9] His seventh single "Orbit" was also released in November 2023.[10]
Moodie released his debut EP "In All of My Lonely Nights" in January 2024, featuring all his previous singles excluding "Eighteen".[11] After that Moodie went on a tour "Lonely Nights Tour" where he preformed in Europe and United States.[12]
In March 2024 he released a new song "Beat Up Car".[13] In June he will release a new song called "Bad Emotions" In October he will release his second ep "Good Old Days". He will also go on "Good Old Days Tour" in October.[14]
