The Henry Dunant Foundation, based in Geneva, awards two prizes each year to individuals who contribute to promoting the ideas of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross.
The Henry Dunant Prize is awarded to individuals or entities who stand out for their exceptional contribution to the enrichment, promotion, and renewal of the principles and values upheld by Henry Dunant.
The Foundation awards the Henry Dunant Prize in two categories: Field and Research. The recipient receives a diploma and a financial reward for each category. The Research Prize is awarded 5000 Swiss francs[1]
For example, the 2021 Field Prize was awarded to Michel Deyra and Christophe Lanord,[2] and [3] the founders of the Pictet Prize. In 2009, the Research Prize was awarded to Mrs. Géraldine Ruiz, while in 2007, it was awarded to Pierre Claver Mbonimpa.[4]
The Foundation was is a charity that was founded in 1998 with legal form "Stiftung" in Switzerland. It gives grants.[5]
