Greg Loftus (born May 1, 1985) is an American singer-songwriter known for his country-tinged acoustic tunes and alt-country sound. Loftus was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and began writing songs at the age of 12. His early influences include renowned songwriters such as Townes Van Zant, John Prine, and Steve Earle.

In 2008, Loftus released his self-produced debut album, "No Taking Prisoners Tonight," under the West Virginia-based independent label Big Bullet Records. He spent the following years touring the east coast and parts of the Appalachian south while based out of Boston, Massachusetts, building a local following and releasing additional EPs.

In 2011, seeking new creative opportunities, Loftus relocated to Austin, Texas, where he formed the alt-country band Carpetbagger and shared the stage with notable musicians including Mike Cooley of Drive-By Truckers and Shakey Graves. He released his second full-length solo album, "Raise the Rent," in December 2015, and formed the band Greg Loftus and The Ten Ninety-Nines.

During his time in Austin, Loftus experienced success as a songwriter and live performer. However, in 2017, he decided to put his music career on hold and returned to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he focused on his custom furniture and woodworking business, Narrowland Woodworks and Design.

Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, Loftus resumed his music career, releasing the album "The Soft Sound of Sundown: Carpetbagger Years (2011-2015)" featuring previously unreleased songs from his time in Austin. In December 2020, he began working on his first record in five years, "Western Medicine," which was released in October 2021.

Currently, Loftus is working on his fourth solo record, "No Kings in the Wild," with producer Eric Lichter at Dirt Floor Recording Studio in Haddam, Connecticut, scheduled for release in the Spring of 2024.

Outside of his music career, Loftus resides in Southeast Massachusetts, where he enjoys walking his dogs and pursuing woodworking projects.
