Givtti Shandon[1], born Gifty Asante (July 4, 1990), is a fast-rising Ghanaian singer known for her unique blend of Afrobeats, highlife, contemporary R&B and rap. She gained prominence in the Ghanaian music scene with her hit song "We Don't Play" and has continued to build her fan base with subsequent releases.[2]

Early life and education

Givtti Shandon is the daughter of Mr. Yaw Asante and Mrs. Rose Appiah. Givtti Shandon hails from a family of musicians from Kintampo in the Bono East area. She began singing at an early age, performing in church and at various social events. She graduated from Abuakwa State college, Kyebi and completed her undergraduate studies at Central University, Ghana, where she majored in Communication Studies[3]

Career

Givtti Shandon initially began her career as an actress[4] before making a bold transition to music in 2021. Her debut audiovisual, "We Don't Play," marked the beginning of her journey in the music industry, where she quickly gained popularity. She has since released several successful singles, including "We outside", "EGO" (featuring Lyrical Joe), "I dey Enter Your Eye", which was released nine months prior to her latest single, "Goodbye."

In 2024, Givtti Shandon released "Goodbye," her first official single for the year[5]. This release is seen as another significant milestone in her career within the Ghanaian music scene.
