Francis Wallis (born 13 December 1944 in Ilford, Essex) is a retired British actor who worked in theatre and television in the 1960s and 1970s.
Career and personal life edit
Wallis's career began in repertory theatre in the 1960s, appearing opposite Tom Baker in several plays.[1][2][3] His most prominent role in television was his portrayal of Roger in The Owl Service. Other television roles included parts in The First Churchills, Husbands and Lovers, ITV Playhouse episode Up School, The Mind of Mr. J.G. Reeder, You're Only Young Twice, Thriller and Crown Court. He also appeared in the film The Breaking of Bumbo.
Wallis is the son of F. J. Wallis, founder of the eponymous supermarket chain, who died in a plane crash in 1972.[4] Wallis married Ann Murphy in 1980.[5] His daughter is the actress Annabelle Wallis.[6]
