Emmanuella Lalanga (born 1998) is a Central African film director and screenwriter. She gained recognition for her debut short film "Pas avant le bac" in 2022, which explored the challenges faced by young people in the Central African Republic regarding education and professional opportunities.

Early life and education edit

Emmanuella Lalanga was born in the city of Bossemptélé, Central African Republic, in 1998. From a young age, she was passionate about storytelling and the arts. After completing her baccalaureate, she pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor's degree in Private Law from the University of Bangui in 2022. She then continued her studies and obtained a Master's degree in Criminal and Penal Sciences in 2023.

Emmanuella Lalanga made her debut in the world of cinema in 2022 with the short film "Pas avant le bac", which attracted attention for its innovative style and visual vision. This film explores the challenges that young people in the Central African Republic face educationally and professionally. “Pas avant le bac” was selected and awarded at numerous international film festivals.

Since her debut, Emmanuella has continued to work on various film projects, both as a director and as a screenwriter. His work primarily focuses on social themes, human rights and the experiences of marginalized communities in the Central African Republic.
