Eamwitmwit
Location:Nauru
Population:1,939

The Eamwitmwit are a tribe in Nauru, a small island country in the Pacific Ocean. Nauruans belong to one of 12 tribes, and each tribe had their own chief. However, in the 19th century they changed to a system of having a single chief of the island. The people are believed to be of Micronesian, Polynesian, and Melanesian descent. The Eamwitmwits emblem is the Cricket. They are known for being beauitful, tidy, and having a shrill manner. [1] Their populaton is 1939, 3rd after the Eamwit and the Iruwa. The other tribes of Nauruans are the Eamwit, the Eaoru, the Eamwidara, the Iruwa, the Eano, the Iwi and Irutsi, who are both extinct, the Deiboe, the Ranibok, the Emea, and the Emeangum.[2]. This is represented in Nauru's 12 Pointed flag and celebrated during Ibumin Earoeni, the day of the tribes.
