Dmitry Zakharovich Khavin (December 15, 1948, Leningrad - December 9, 2007, Brussels) - Soviet and Russian international journalist, cameraman, was a correspondent for the NTV channel.[1][2]

Dmitry Khavin was born on December 15, 1948 in Leningrad. In 1975, he graduated with honors from the camera department of VGIK (later he could do the work of an operator himself), after which he worked at the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

Came to journalism in the 1970s.[3] Covered events in Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Australia. For his work he was awarded the medal “For Military Merit”.[4]

For a long time he headed the Russian Line agency, which specialized in filming videos from European countries for Russian TV channels.

Since August 1996, Khavin worked as a correspondent for the NTV channel. He specialized in covering the activities of the European Union and NATO. In addition, he also made reports on non-political topics. Lived in the city of Waterloo in Belgium. Khavin filmed many of his stories independently as a television cameraman. He worked for the television programs “Today”, “Itogi”, “Football Club” and “Country and World”.

A few months before his death, doctors discovered Dmitry had cancer. He died on December 9, 2007, just a week short of his 59th birthday.

Dmitry is the son of Zakhary Yakovlevich Khavin. Dmitry Khavin was married, he was survived by children and grandchildren. Daughter - Khavina Alexandra Dmitrievna. Son - Khavin Vladislav Dmitrievich. Grandchildren: Dmitry Vladimirovich Koptsov (born in 1996) and Daria Vladimirovna Koptsova (born in 2001).
