"Promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art of dance in all its aspects by the presentation of public performances, and to promote and advance the education of young people in the art of dance by means of giving instruction and promoting the practice and performance of the said art."[1]

2024 is the 60th year of Dance Kaleidoscope. Dance Kaleidoscope was established as an educational charity in 1964 to provide pre-professional training for aspiring young dancers and others considering a career in the entertainment industry. Bi-Annual tours to venues all over Europe including: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel and also Florida, USA. Invitations have been extended to them to dance in Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong and Turkey but travel and accommodation costs make these places unaffordable. Dance Kaleidoscope is invited to perform locally at festivals, concerts, charity events and theater productions.

Dance Kaleidoscope is totally self-funded. They receive no sponsorship and are not grant aided. The group fund raise among themselves; however any offers of assistance would always be welcome.

About Gillian Quinn

Gillian Quinn Founder of Dance Kaleidoscope

As well as running her own Dance School, Gillian Quinn founded the North of England College of Dance of which she is the Principal. She is also the artistic director of Ballet Nomad as well as Dance Kaleidoscope Youth Dance Theatre.

Gillian became an international examiner for the R. A. D. in 1969. She is a member of the Royal Academy of Dance and holds a B.Phil. (Hons) Arts, a Diploma in Sports Psychology and the Advanced Teachers Diploma of the R.A.D.

She is a member of the IDTA and is qualified to teach ballet, modern jazz, tap, ballroom and Bokwa. Gillian was awarded an MBE[2][3] for services to Dance in December 2012.

Gillian trained with Nellie Potts, Audrey DeVos and also with Madam Preobrajenska in Paris. She danced professionally for eight years
