Dr. Constantino Fondevila graduated in Medicine from the University of Navarra and completed his residency in the Department of General and Digestive Surgery at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. During his time in Barcelona, he served as Chief of the General and Digestive Surgery Department. Later, he relocated to Madrid, where he currently plays a crucial role at the Hospital Universitario La Paz.
Throughout his career, Dr. Fondevila has demonstrated excellence in the field of surgery. In 2007, he was selected as one of the ten International Guest Scholars of the American College of Surgeons for the year 2008. Additionally, since 2008, he has been an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Barcelona.
In his current role as Chief of the General and Digestive Surgery Department at the Hospital Universitario La Paz, Dr. Fondevila leads the surgical part of the Liver Transplant Unit. He has published over 120 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has been a specialized speaker on liver transplantation and hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery at national and international congresses.
In 2012, he received the prestigious "National Surgery Award" from the Spanish Association of Surgeons. His dedication and experience have left an indelible mark on the medical community, and his commitment to excellence continues to inspire future generations of surgeons.
