Citybox Hotels AS is a Norwegian hotel chain based in Bergen. The company has (as of 2024) nine hotels: two in Bergen, and one each in Oslo, Stockholm, Kristiansand, Tallinn, Helsinki, Brussels and Antwerp.
Ownership
editAs of 2024 the hotel chain is owned by AS Smith Sivertsen and Eivind Hjulstad.
In 2023 and 2024 the hotel chain carried out a capital raising in collaboration with Dealflow in order to secure future growth. In 2024 AS Smith Sivertsen invested 10 MNOK, Herman Friele 10 MNOK and Rica Eiendom 6 MNOK. In addition the company brought in 220 other investors with funds from 1 MNOK and downwards.[1]
History
editCitybox Hotels AS opened its first hotel in 2006, Citybox Bergen and in 2013 they opened their first hotel in Oslo.[2]
In May 2019 Citybox Hotels opened its second hotel in Bergen, Citybox Danmarksplass. Citybox Tallinn opened in August 2020 and was the chains first hotel outside of Norway. In 2021 Citybox Lite Kristiansand and Citybox Antwerp[3] opened, and in February 2024 Citybox Helsinki opened[4].
In the summer of 2024, the hotel chain opened two more hotel, Citybox Stockholm and Citybox Brussels.
