She is recognized for her appearances on golf-related television programs, such as The Big Break, and for her work helping individuals across various industries improve their confidence and mindset.

Early Life

edit

Christina Lecuyer was born in Edmonton, Alberta. She was introduced to the sport of golf at a young age, growing up on the Westlock Golf Club, where her father served as the head golf professional and superintendent. Lecuyer's family has strong ties to golf, with her father becoming a member of the PGA of Alberta, and her younger brothers, Ryan and Steven, achieving success in amateur and professional golf.[1] In 2003, Ryan won the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship[2] while Steven secured back-to-back victories at the Vancouver Open in 2022 and 2023.[3]

Lecuyer's involvement in golf began at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club, where she worked as a teenager, played money games, and got a quick education on how to play by watching others.[4] Lecuyer quickly progressed through the amateur golf circuit in Edmonton and later secured a full scholarship to play collegiate golf for the University of Central Arkansas (UCA).[5] While at UCA, Lecuyer won five tournaments, was a three-time All-Conference selection, and earned an All-American selection. She was also named a second-team Academic All-American by ESPN The Magazine. In 2005, Lecuyer led her team to victory in the Gulf South Conference championship and qualified for the 2006 NCAA Regionals.[4]

After completing her collegiate career, Lecuyer transitioned to professional golf, competing in various mini tours across North America. She reached the final stage of LPGA qualifying school on three consecutive occasions.[5]

Her performance on the course, characterized by powerful drives and a commanding presence, led to multiple appearances on popular television programs, including participating in numerous Golf Channel series[5][6] and co-hosting Swing Clinic with Jimmy Hanlin of FOX Sports.[1]

Lecuyer's most prominent television appearances were during her time on The Big Break, where she competed in both the Ka'anapali and Dominican Republic seasons. In Ka'anapali, Lecuyer finished in 4th place and in the Dominican Republic, she made the winning putt for the girls team.[5] Her success was covered by several media outlets, including NBC Sports, ScoreGolf, and Arkansas Money and Politics, among others.

Following her television success, Lecuyer was frequently invited to play golf with corporate executives. These interactions evolved into informal coaching sessions where Lecuyer offered business and personal development advice.[4] During this period, Lecuyer was navigating personal challenges of her own, including struggles with low self-esteem and a reliance on external validation. As she pursued her own self-development, she applied the insights gained to her coaching sessions with executives. This process of growth and mindset improvement eventually led to her transition from professional golf to a career in confidence and mindset coaching.[4]

Although Lecuyer retired from professional golf, she continues to participate in philanthropic golf events, contributing to various charitable causes.[7][8][9][4]
