Chess Set Football Club, commonly referred to as Chess Set FC (often stylised as CSFC), is a amateur football club based in England. They don’t compete in any division of English football. Nicknamed the Knights, they started as simply a football training system made by 5 Year 8 boys in 2024, but became a club after one of the founders, decided to make a club crest, in which the boys declared it should say 'Football Club' rather than 'Football Group'

As of the start of the 2024–25 season, Chess Set FC are yet to compete in any division of English football, still without a kit, a full squad, a manager, and a home ground, despite having an official crest.

They currently have 6 members, 5 of which were the 5 founders. This would mean they would need, at absolute minimum, another 10 players to field a squad to play in any division of English football.

History

edit

Chess Set F.C. was first conceived of on 29 February 2024 when after a group of friends managed to get themselves in a football team altogether at school. After school, they decided to start having training sessions roughly once a week. Two months later, on 24 April 2024, one of the friends decided to create a crest, in which they decided to name the group Chess Set Football Club rather than Chess Set Football Group and, from that point onwards, they decided to keep it as a club and attempt to eventually form a club in the English football pyramid. They are still yet to compete in any professional or amateur match due to the fact that they don’t have enough players to field a Starting XI and bench. Also, they don’t have a home ground, jersey and a head coach.

Crest and Colours

edit

Chess Set F.C.'s colours come from the black and white of a traditional Chess Board, and the crest also bases its appearance off of a traditional board, with a knight in the middle surround by black and white checkers.
