History

Founded in 1984, Century Pulp and Paper has established itself in the Indian paper industry.[3]

Controversy

The National Green Tribunal has ordered Century Pulp and Paper Ltd to pay Rs 30 lakh for pollution issues caused by its paper mill in Nainital. The tribunal noted that the effluents discharged into a local stream exceeded permissible norms, threatening the local ecosystem and potentially causing long-term environmental damage.[4]
