The Casa Haas is an historic building in Mazatlán, Mexico. It was the former home of the Sinaloan journalist and writer Antonio Haas. Currently, cultural events of all kinds are held.[1]
Antonio Haas (1924-2007) lived in the house that belonged to his family since the mid-19th century. Haas had the intention of transferring the property to the town of Mazatlán and installing the Municipal Music School. After his death in 2007, his nephew Alberto Haas inherited the building and sold it to the State Government.[2]
Originally a museum was planned to be installed, but this was discarded in favor of being a cultural center.[3]
The building is currently in disrepair.[4]
