The term 'Brougham Boys' refers to a group of males who lives together and engage in homosexual activities privately while maintaining an external social profile of heterosexuality.
The term was popularised in the 1970s during English Homosexual Liberation movements when men were not able to be free or public about their sexuality. The term originates from an apartment building in London on Brougham Street that was popular for homosexual men to rent apartments and congregate.
Now it is used more colloquially to describe living situations where closeted men live together in groups and engage in homosexual activity.
