British Truck Racing Championship

Description

edit

The British Truck Racing Association (BTRA) is the heaviest and biggest form of motorsport in the UK. The machines weigh up to 5 tonnes and have 1000bhp. The category is split into 2 Divisions, Division 1 for more powerful machinery and Division 2 for more 'production based' trucks.

History

edit

Originating in the US in 1979, Truck Racing came to the UK soon after and the Organisation, British Truck Racing Assosiation (BTRA) was formed in 1984.

Europe

edit

Despite this being mostly a British Championship, the BTRA will be traveling abroad in 2024, as they are going to visit the circuit of Le Mans in France.

Most Titles

edit

Stuart Oliver (born in Hersham in 1963) is the most successful driver in terms of BTRA titles with 10. As well as this, he is currently working as a key promoter for the championship.
