Karine LeBlanc is a multidisciplinary artist from Gaspésie who works with puppetry, textile arts, and performance art.
She manipulates textile artworks like metaphorical puppets and creates abstract puppets that narrate her inner world and the cultural universe around her. Her work is based on research, experimentation, and the blending of disciplines. She is interested in the passing down of skills between generations and the connection between artwork and its territory.
Her work has been supported multiple times by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec through various grants. In 2022, she was a finalist for the Artist of the Year award in Gaspésie.
She also shares her practice through various community art projects and aims for art to be anchored in life, propelling humans towards a more sensitive existence.
