Battle of kef (1746) was a battle in the Tunisian civil war between the sons of Hussein Bey and the nephew of Hussein Bey Ali pasha.

Background

edit

During the second phase of the war, after Ali pasha’s victory in the Battle of Samanja and his seizure of the capital, he executed his uncle Hussein, and Hussein’s two sons, Muhammad and Ali, fled to Algeria. In Algeria, Hussein's sons succeeded in convincing the Bey of Constantine to cooperate with them to defeat Ali Pasha.[1]

Battle

edit

Muhammad bin Al-Hussein was the leader of the army that would invade Tunisia and return it to the sons of Al-Hussein. This army was Algerian and Turkish. The army began to advance the invasion, but they were defeated in Kef in 1746.[1]
