Battle edit
Alivardi Khan, the Nawab of Bengal, was leading his army towards Murshidabad, crossing the Son River. The Maratha forces, consisting of 6,000 men led by Raghoji, attacked the Bengal forces, which numbered 600 men. Alivardi Khan charged against them, forcing the Marathas to retreat, and his army drove them away.[2][3][4]
