Aspen Academy is a private, co-educational, non-sectarian elementary school and middle school in Greenwood Village, Colorado. It serves students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Aspen Academy was founded in 2005 and focuses on academics, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills.[1] Middle school students are responsible for running on-campus businesses, including school store, cafe, and broadcast divisions.[2]
As part of the 2021 Denver Startup Week, alumni participated in a panel discussion about their learnings as 14-year-old CEOs.[3]
History
editPrior to being purchased by Aspen Academy, Mission Hills Baptist Church moved an original structure from Buckley Air Force Base to its current location at University Boulevard & Orchard in 1952 that remains on the Aspen Academy campus today.[4]
In January 2021, teachers at the school were featured in the "I Work" episode of PBS American Portrait.[5]

editAccording to Niche, Aspen Academy is a top-rated school[6] in the #5 Best Suburbs to Live in the Denver Area.[7] The school was voted an award-winner in the Colorado Parent Family Favorites category of Top Private School in 2019,[8] 2021,[9] and 2022.[10] In 2022, Aspen Academy was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a Denver Best Places to Work recipient.[11]
Aspen Academy is accredited by the Association of Colorado Independent Schools.[12]
