Trip to Haiti and Kidnapping

edit

Maalouf took a trip to Haiti on a unknown day in March 2024, to do an interview with Jimmy Chérizier, aka “Barbecue”.[2] Leader of the Revolutionary Forces of the G9 Family and Allies.

Before his departure, Maalouf wrote on X; “Going on another one of those trips. If I die, thanks for watching what I’ve put out. If I live, all glory to God.”, and Before his kidnapping he recorded a video, and discussed the danger of gangs in the area, saying “All it takes is one stupid gang member holding an AK-47 for one thing to go wrong.”[3]

On March 14, 2024, Maalouf was kidnapped by the 400 Mawozo gang in Croix-des-Bouquets[2] while he was driving, for a ransom of 40,000 US Dollars (5,307,596.00 Haitian Gourde), later increased to 600,000 US Dollars (79,613,940.00 Haitian Gourde), and is apparently put in a cage.[5][6]
