Annie Bunker Gaybis (born January 22, 1953) is an American actress who has starred in several movies and television shows. She has appeared in Showgirls (1995), 1982 films The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Friday the 13th Part III.

Born in Maryland, she was raised by her father and at 5, was introduced to the performing arts. She received her equity card with the Centerstage repertory company. Pursuing dance by the age of six, Gaybis expanded to voice training . She later moved to Los Angeles to further her career.

Gaybis began acting after education. She featured in the 1973 film, Massage Parlor Murders! and Snow White in the 1978 musical, Fairy Tales. She played the role of Mary Magdalene in Tidings, Comfort and Joy (1973) and a guest role in Oh! Calcutta!, which was released on Broadway (1977–1978). In 1986, she portrayed Bianca in Otello at the Los Angeles Opera.

During the 1980s and 1990s, she was involved with roles in Friday the 13th Part III, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and The Distinguished Gentleman, in 1992. She also appeared in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and had uncredited roles in Showgirls and Waterworld. On television, Gaybis contributed to the entertainment show, Skip E Lowe Looks At Hollywood from 1992 to 1994. Her stage work continued with roles in productions such as Funny Girl, Joey and Maria's Italian Wedding, and La Traviata.

She has also featured in the films After the Fall, Suddenly Last Summer, and Venus in Fur, I Am A Camera (2017) and The Owl and the Pussycat (2018).

Personal life edit

Gaybis has been married to actor and comedian John Byner since 1992. They resides in Northeast Florida.
