Andrea Sanguineti (born May 28, 1983 in Santa Margherita Ligure) is an Italian/German conductor, Music Director of the Aalto Music Theater Essen and Chief Conductor of the Essener Philharmoniker since 2023.[1][2][3] He made his debut at the Hanover State Theater in 2008. From 2011 to 2013 he was first conductor at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg. He held the position of Music Director at the Görlitz/Zittau Theater between 2013 and 2018.
Guest appearances have taken him to, among others, the Sydney Opera House[4], the Deutsche Oper Berlin[5], at the Grand Théâtre de Genève[6], at the Cologne Opera [7], and at the Operá National du Rhin in Strasbourg.[8]
