Gamma Knife edit

The Elekta Leksell Gamma Knife, developed in 1967 by Lars Leksell, Ladislau Steiner, and Börje Larsson, is a precise and non-invasive form of radiation therapy [7]. It utilizes up to 192 focused beams of radiation to target specific areas with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue [8]. This form of treatment is used for addressing metastatic brain tumours, benign brain tumours, neurovascular conditions and functional disorders [9] [10].
