Alla Vasilievna Smirnova (married name Lamakina) (Russian: Алла Васильевна Смирнова / Ломакина, Belarusian: Ала Васiльеуна Смярнова /Ламакiна); born in Krasnokamsk, Russia, on December 2, 1950; is a retired Soviet Union / Russian / Belarusian sprinter and long jumper. Grew up in Ульяновск. Moved to Minsk, Belarus, in 1970.

Athletic Career edit

Started training in Ulyanovsk's Russia/USSR (Ульяновск) Children Sport Club (ДСШ) in 1962 under coach Oreshkin Victor Ivanovich (Орешкин, Виктор Иванович). In 1966 got first place in 60 m + 60 m hurdles at Russian Federation (RSFSR) high school championship. In 1968 got 1st place in 100 meter sprint at National High School championship in Sochi. In 1970 got 1st place at dual USSR-USA meet in Leningrad in long jump. Same year, she became USSR Youth champion in long jump and 2nd in 100 m dash. In 1971, got 1st in long jump at the indoor USSR Nationals in Moscow. Later same year, with 6.30 m (20 ft 8 in) she got 5th at the European Indoor Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1971, with 6.26 m (20 ft 6.46 in) she got 2nd at the dual USA-USSR track and field meet at Berkeley, USA.

In 1972, married Aleksandr Leonidovich Lomakin (Russian: Александр Леонидович Ломакин, Belarusian: Аляксандр Леанiдавич Ламакiн), professional football player (Dinamo Minsk; Youth USSR National team). Son - Kiryl Lamakin (Russian: Кирилл Ломакин; Belarusian: Кiрыл Ламакiн), born 1973. Granddaughters: Alexandra (Sasha) Lamakina and Daria Lamakina. Daughter-in-law: Cara (Josephine) Lamakina.
