BIOGRAPHY

Born into a family of doctors. His father is a trauma surgeon, head of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics, his mother is a gynecologist.

1962-1972 - secondary school No. 189, Baku.

In 1979 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after. N. Narimanov. Afterwards he worked in the intensive care unit of the Republican Clinical Hospital in Baku as an anesthesiologist and resuscitator. Since 1982, he has been a traumatologist-orthopedist at the Az-SIUV clinic. In 1983 he entered graduate school at the CITO named after. Priorov, there, under the guidance of Professor Dedova V.D., he defended his dissertation on the treatment of complicated hip dislocations in children. In 1987-1988, he worked for two years as head of the orthopedics department at the traumatology and orthopedics clinic in Baku. In 1990, he was sent to Moscow to work on his doctoral dissertation at the clinic of Academician Nikolai Nikolaevich Trapeznikov, General Director of the Russian Cancer Research Center. N. N. Blokhina. In 1992 he defended his doctoral dissertation on tumors of the musculoskeletal system. In 2004, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, specializing in oncologic orthopedics.

In 2006 he was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.

In 2007, he was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, specializing in oncologic orthopedics.

Since 2009, Aliev M.D. has been a member of the Public Chamber under the President of the Russian Federation.

In 2011, he was elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the specialty of oncologic orthopedics.

During this period, the following were created: 6 scientific monographs, 2 methodological manuals, 5 books, publishes about 500 scientific works and articles, both in Russia and in other countries of the world.

Mamed Aliyev is the author of 9 inventions and 6 innovation proposals.

He trained 16 candidates and 16 doctors of science in the specialty “oncology”.

M. D. Aliyev is the founder of the newest direction in domestic oncology - oncological orthopedics, which includes complex orthopedic treatment of cancer patients - endoprosthetics for skeletal tumors, surgical treatment of tumors of the spine, pelvis, chest wall and micro- and reconstructive vascular surgery in oncology.

He is a member of the European Organization of Oncologists for International Protocols (EORTC), the International Society of Orthopedic Traumatologists (SICOT), and the European Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (EMSOS). Chairman of the editorial board of the journal “Sarcomas of bones, soft tissues and skin tumors”, member of the editorial board of 5 medical journals.

In 2009, on the initiative of M.D. Aliyev, the East-European Sarcoma Group was created, bringing together specialists in Russia and the CIS countries.

Currently, Mamed Aliyev is an adviser to the general director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center of Radiology" of the Russian Ministry of Health

Since 2017 - member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Since 2009 - President of the East-European Sarcoma Group.

In 2017, he resigned from the post of Deputy Director for Scientific and Medical Work and Director of the Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology of the N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology.

Since 2019, Mamed Aliyev has been an advisor to the general director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “National Medical Research Center of Radiology” of the Russian Ministry of Health, leading the training of scientific personnel and active surgical work. He is responsible for saving thousands of lives. In the scientific school he created, the main emphasis is on organ-preserving operations, thanks to which patients avoid disability and return to an active, full-fledged lifestyle.
