Alexander Chenakin is a Russian and American electrical engineer, inventor and entrepreneur.
Professional Career
Alexander Chenakin is the Chief Technology Officer at Anritsu Company. He is well recognized in the field of frequency synthesis and is referred to as the inventor of QuickSyn technology. In 2023, Chenakin was elected an IEEE Fellow in recognition of his outstanding research achievements with the following citation: “For Contributions to Microwave Frequency Synthesizer Technologies” [1]. He is the author of an Artech House published textbook about frequency synthesizers (A. Chenakin, Frequency Synthesizers: Concept to Product, Norwood, MA: Artech House, 2010, ISBN: 978-1596932302).
Awards
In 2009, Chenakin received ARMMS RF&Microwave Society’s award for his work on fast-switching frequency synthesizers [2]. In 2011, his work has been duly acknowledged in the 50th anniversary issue of Microwaves & RF, which featured "People Who Made it Happen" [3]. In 2022, he was selected as “an RF Industry Icon,” by Microwave Journal [4].
