Aleksandar Blagojević-Kočanski (Serbian Cyrillic: Александар Благојевић-Кочански) was a chief of the mountain staff in 1906, and a member of the executing committee in 1908 in the Macedonian Struggle.[1]
Aleksandar Blagojević-Kočanski was one of many May Coup officers who took part in the poorly-executed overthrow of Alexander Obrenović and his wife Draga which ushered in the Karađorđević dynasty. Later, Kočanski joined all the conspirators now chiefs of the mountain staff: Vojin Popović, also known as Vojvoda Vuk who was chief of mountain staff in 1907 and early part of 1908; Mihailo Ristić-Džervinac, chief of the mountain staff in 1905; Alimpije Marjanović-Ovčepolski, chief of the mountain staff in 1907-1908; Velimir Vemić, an active voivode; and Ljubomir Vulović, a member of the Serb Action Committee in 1907-1908 before the Committee of Union and Progress was instituted in Macedonia and Kosovo Vilayet.[2]
Earlier, another Black Hand member Ilija Jovanović-Pčinjski was responsible for organizing the Serbian četas into "combat units" that entered Ottoman-controlled Macedonia and formed a mountain staff, putting the operations of "Serbian ćetas under its control"[3].
