Aditi Mayer[1] is an Indian-American sustainable fashion blogger, photojournalist, and labor rights activist.
Early life and education
editIn an interview with Fashion, Mayer described herself as having an interest in thrifting from an early age.[2]
When she was a senior in high school, Mayer became interested in sustainable fashion after the Rana Plaza factory collapse that killed 1,134 garment workers in 2013.[2][3] In response, she started a blog exploring sustainable fashion and her relationship with consumption.[2]
Mayer has a journalism degree from the University of California, Irvine.[3]
Activism
editHer photojournalism work has been spotlighted by National Geographic, where she was a 2022 fellow, and her writings have appeared in Vogue, Teen Vogue, The Titian Thread, Fashionista, The American Scholar, Eco Age, KOCE-TV (Costa Mesa, CA), and Atmos.[3]
