Adam Greene (born 1970) is an American composer and educator.

Life and Work edit

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Greene earned undergraduate degrees in music and anthropology from Connecticut College, a M.M. from the New England Conservatory of Music, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied with Roger Reynolds and Brian Ferneyhough. He also studied composition with Arthur Berger and Franco Donatoni.

Greene’s music has been played by the San Diego Symphony, SONOR, NOISE Ensemble.[1], the Formalist Quartet, Speculum Musicae, Ensemble Resonanz, pianist Christopher Adler[2], and guitarist Colin McAllister[3]. He has received awards from the Fromm Music Foundation at Harvard[4], ASCAP, NACUSA, The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI), The American Music Center, the American Composers Forum, and the American Composers Orchestra “EarShot” program[5]. He has served on the faculties of The University of Minnesota School of Music and The University of San Diego.
