Draft:About the importance of old people wisdom

Living Books

Baby boomers, this generation, refers to the people born from 1946 and 1964. We are losing them quickly, and due to the chaotic routine, we are not able to understand what we are losing. They are the people who embody the epitome of humanity, sympathy, care, affection, and creating unity. Sitting with them for a few minutes makes me realize that actually, they are the people who lived a real life, and Generation Y, people born between 1981 and 1994, and Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012, are actually wasting our time by trying to make ourselves happy with fake achievements and counterfeit connections.

This realization came into my mind when I was sitting with my maternal grandfather, who is ill nowadays. Although he's not in his full senses these days, but whenever lunch or dinner time approaches, he makes the announcement for everyone to come and sit together so that we can eat meals together. The care he still has, despite not being in his senses, shows the rules he had made when he was the only breadwinner of his family. Sitting together, showing care for every member of the family, discussing different domestic issues so that they can be solved on the spot, were their traits. That's why the time they have spent is chock-full of good memories and pleasant stories.

Spending time with the people born between 1946 and 1964, who are becoming rare nowadays because we are losing them daily, makes me realize what actually life is and how it is lived, not spent. Their talking, and the way they tell their stories, is much better than spending our time making fake stories on Facebook and other social media platforms. The real elation of conversing on different deep topics can easily be felt when you sit beside them to listen to them. The unfortunate generation is us, who are losing them without getting the most out of them. The books we have read are in theoretical forms, but they, the baby boomers, are actually living books that are in practical shape.

Having a baby boomer in this era, when everyone has engrossed in the shenanigans of social media, politics, and fake relationships, isn't less than a blessing. Sitting with them by putting all electronic gadgets on the back burner is more than ample than wasting time watching reels and memes. If someone still has a baby boomer in their home, they have the best opportunity to learn real humanity and happiness. Don't lose the opportunity because it knocks only once.
