Abhilash Pillai started his career in 2013.He was assisting in few films and also working in few Ad films. However, his unwavering commitment to filmmaking soon bore fruit, and he wrote his first screenplay Cadaver in 2018. It was his fourth film, Malikappuram, that catapulted him into the national spotlight.His Tamil release Cadaver and Malayalam release Malikapuram made a benchmark in the respective industries.His next lineup is with the most prominent actors and directors in both Malayalam and Tamil industries. He has been recently in the news for collaborating with Soundarya Rajinikanth for his upcoming Tamil movie.

Abhilash Pillai was married to Aswathy Abhilash , his college love on 2012 and they have two daughters Vaishnavi Pillai and Meenakshi Pillai.
