Abdifatah Mohamed Mohamud is a Kenyan professional journalist and former political candidate.
Born 3rd of August 1996, He currently serves as a communication and coordination officer for TIASOM in the Horn of Africa region, a position he has held since June 2023.
Early Career Mohamud began his career as a freelance journalist, reporting on events in Kenya and the broader Horn of Africa region. From 2018 to 2021, he worked as a branch manager at Nurex Cargo and Clearing Ltd, a logistics company based in Kenya.
2022 Political Campaign (Kenya) In 2022, Mohamud contested for the position of Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Rhamu Ward in Mandera County, Kenya. He ran on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, which was the ruling party in Kenya at the time. However, due to the clan-based political dynamics in the Northern Frontier District of Kenya, Abdifatah was ultimately unable to make it onto the ballot.
In June 2023, Abdifatah transitioned from journalism to humanitarian work, taking on the role of communication and coordination officer for TIASOM in the Horn of Africa. In this position, he is responsible for managing communication and coordination efforts for the development programs in the region.
Abdifatah is originally from Mandera County in Kenya's Northern Frontier District. He has trained a journalist, He attended his primary education at Alhidaya integrated academy in Rhamu town and joined Rhamu Dimtu Boys for his second level of education.
