Abanoub Wagdy is an Egyptian writer, translator, literary critic, and academic researcher in English literature. He was born on January 17, 1996 in Port Said Governorate, Egypt. He has a number of books and studies that vary between works and translations. He a BA in English Literature from Port Said University in 2018, then a pre-MA in the same specialty from the same university in 2019. He is currently working on preparing his thesis on “Arab-American Theater,” entitled “Intersectionality in Three Selected Plays by Youssef El-Gendy,” the same writer for whom Abanoub translated a play called “Ten Acrobats” in 2022.^[1]

He has dozens of academic papers and articles, published and unpublished, in the fields of literature, psychology, and sociology. He also participates in many international academic conferences on languages and translation, including the “Transnational Feminism” conference at Badr University in Cairo (BUC) in October 2023. He participated with a research paper on the American poet Emily Dickinson, which aims to give a new reading of some of Dickinson’s poems in the light of feminist theory. Ecology.

Studies on him

A Moroccan researcher presented academic research (2024) on Abanoub Wagdy’s translation methodology. The Palestinian student Nour Habib also relied on his writings in her research on the problems of translating English idiomatic expressions into Arabic and vice versa (2022).
