Christopher Towne Leland (October 17, 1951 – July 23, 2012) was an American novelist.[1][2]

Early life and education edit

Leland was born October 17, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.[1] He grew up in Tulsa; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Huntington Beach, California.[2] He attended Pomona College, graduating in 1973. He then attended the University of California, San Diego, receiving his doctorate in 1982.[1]

Career edit

Leland taught at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, starting in 1990.[2][1]

Death and legacy edit

Leland died on July 23, 2012, of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.[3]
