Splitting this category up

This category is getting pretty large now so I think we should think about splitting it up into some subcategories. I think we should try to split them up in such a way that facilitates creation of content. We really need to clear some of the backlog here. Perhaps adding parameters to the template that make the requests more specific (for example |type=graph) would help make it clearer for people who are interested in creating diagrams. Other than the type of diagram, it would have to be done by subject I guess. Type might be a good start though. Richard001 (talk) 07:53, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

I suggest to split by type (with separate templates rather than parameters, KISS principle). Type=graph or chart, definitely. Maybe better to call it chart as graph seems to have too many meanings. I really want to separate out the tower-related requests too. There are so many, like 20-40% it seems. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be like height-comparison silhouetted pictures or what. --pfctdayelise (talk) 17:55, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

• {{Mathematical diagram requested}}
• {{Mechanical diagram requested}}
  • {{Vehicle diagram requested}}
• {{Meteorological diagram requested}}
• {{Physics diagram requested}}
  • {{Optical diagram requested}}
  • {{Orbital diagram requested}}

I've also changed {{Building diagram needed}} to {{Architectural diagram needed}}, to capture bridges and such.
Please assist in splitting to these. Other possible sub-templates to be created:

• linguistic diagram requested
• roadway diagram requested
