Category talk:Psychological Testing

These categories are exactly the same except for the title and where they are placed in the hierarchy. Mattisse 20:39, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

The hierarchy reflects their intended difference. A list of tests is only a small part of the topic of psychological testing. The topic also includes things like psychometrics (the science of analyzing test data) and controversial issues (like race and intelligence). Therefore, I strongly disagree with the merge. I do, however, suggest heavy cleaning to help delineate the two, which I plan to do (like some of the supercat cleaning you've been doing in this neighborhood, which I appreciate :) ).Iulus Ascanius (talk) 21:22, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I just noticed that the two categories had exactly the same contents, just different names. Both referenced the same parent article: Psychological testing. Do you think we need both Category:Psychological testing and Category:Psychological Testing? I have been sorting psychology articles, and it is near impossible with all these categories! Help! I agree! My vision with this is a hierarchy like this:

Psychology

 (a bunch of other subcats)
 Psychological Testing
   Psychometrics (science of building tests)
Psychological tests (a list of tests - would that be better as a page rather than a category?)
   Intelligence Testing
   MBTI Types
   ...

Also, since you have the experience - should "Psychological Testing" be "Psychological testing" and I should make the second word lowercase on the bottom of all the articles in the category? Thanks!Iulus Ascanius (talk) 21:43, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, personality tests, etc. Also, according to Wikipedia rules it is incorrect to capitalize the second word - same rules as article and section naming. Actually the category is called Psychological tests, but I think a case could be make for Psychological testing instead. Mattisse 22:36, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
