This category is for schools that were formed on the basis of two independent schools partnering to form a third school. An example of this is Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, which is a partnership between Indiana University and Purdue University that will be dissolved in 2024 in favor of separate IU- and Purdue-affiliated institutions.
