History edit

Bhoj is famous for legendary Swamis whose story is well known among the villagers.

Around 500 to 600 years back (data is not clear), Bhoj was home to Godman HH Mahant Swamiji. Currently, his samadhi (memorial) is present in the village.

HH Mahant was friends with HH Bangal Saab Maharaj, who lived in the nearby village Karadaga. As Karadaga is only 2 kms away, the two contemporaries would meet to exchange their views and respect for the Lords.

Due to the presence of holy river (Doodhganga) in between Bhoj and Karadaga, it was hard for both of them to meet during the rainy season.

However, even amidst natural constrictions, Bangal Saab used to cross the river by simply sitting on a mat floating across the flooded river. Thus, the swamijis would meet each other daily.

Bhoj is a village known for the Jain Muni Shri 108 Pratham-Acharya Shantisagarji Maharaj.
