Arjun Trivedi (born 3 September 2004) is an American chess arena grandmaster who plays for the United States of America. He was awarded the title of Arena Grandmaster by FIDE in 2024.

Chess career edit

Trivedi won the Triangle Chess Championship in 2016. In 2021, he played in the Chess Olympics. In 2022, his performance surged, taking 10th in the Global Championship and reaching 9th[1] in the Lichess Summer Marathon. That same year, he placed 1st in several Lichess Swiss events and he tied for 3rd in the Blitz arena.[2] Trivedi also plays extensively online, having peaked at 95th in the world on Lichess bullet and on Chess.com bullet. In Blitz, he is at a similar peak, reaching 103rd in the world. In 2023, he achieved notable results including a 3rd-place finish in Arena Kings and a win in the CSCA Blitz event. Nearing the end of 2023, he received the Arena International Master title.[3]

In 2024, he scored a notable upset win over Jorge Saucedo Lopez, after he made a rare endgame miscalculation.[4] He earned the Arena Grandmaster title shortly after.[5]
