AbzasMedia is an independent, non-commercial media organization whose activities are mainly related to corruption investigations in Azerbaijan.

Biography

edit

It was founded in 2016 by a group of civil society representatives, including Ulvi Hasanlı. The site publishes daily news on domestic politics and human rights, as well as periodic columns and research.[1] For this reason, the site continues to operate despite many serious problems.[2][3][4][5] Acting journalists and many of their relatives were arrested, and violence was used against those who wanted to support them.[6][7][8][9]

Awards

edit

On March 19, AbzasMedia was awarded the "Homo Homini" human rights award by the "People in Need" organization in the Czech Republic.[10]
