The ALCO RS-36 (DL 701) is a 1,800 horsepower (1,300 kW) diesel-electric locomotive of which 40 were produced by ALCO between February 1962 and August 1963 for seven railroads.

Atlantic & Danville #2 has been fully restored and is owned by the Southern New England Railroad (now in D&H inspired paint and numbered 5012).[ 1]
Apache Railway #800 has been donated and will be put on display in front of the historic Navajo County Courthouse in Holbrook, AZ .[ 2]
Delaware & Hudson #5015 is undergoing restoration by the Southern New England Railroad.[ 1]
Delaware & Hudson #5017 is operational and owned by the Delaware & Ulster Railroad.[ 3]
Delaware & Hudson #5019 is stored at North Walpole, NH .
