2024 Territory Labor Party leadership election

The 2024 Territory Labor Party leadership election was held on 3 September 2024 to elect a new leader of the Territory Labor Party and ex officio, Leader of the Opposition in the Northern Territory, following the resignation of Eva Lawler.

Lawler lost her seat of Drysdale in the 2024 Northern Territory general election, held on 24 August.[1][2]

Arnhem MP Selena Uibo was elected unopposed in a vote of the Labor caucus on 4 September, becoming the first Indigenous Australian woman to lead a major political party.[3][4] She is not aligned with the Labor Left or Labor Right factions.[5][6]
