Format
editThe championship will have the same format as in 2023. The draw took place at Austin Stack Park, Tralee on 15th February, 2024.[4] The 16 clubs were drawn into four groups of 4 teams each with the semi-final and final losers from 2023 (Killarney Legion, Austin Stacks, Fossa) and the Kerry SFC relegated team (Kerins O'Rahilly's) being seeded. Each team will play the other three teams in their group once, having one home match, one away match and one at a neutral venue. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals with each group winner to play the runner-up of another group at home.
The teams that finish in last place in each group will advance to the relegation play-off semi-finals, with the losers then advancing to the relegation play-off final. The loser of this match will be relegated to the Junior Premier Championship for 2025 while the winner will retain their intermediate status for 2025. [5]
Teams
editTeam changes
edit- Kerins O'Rahilly's (relegated from the Senior Club Championship) replaced Milltown/Castlemaine who were promoted to the senior championship.[6]
- Listowel Emmets (winners of the Junior Premier Championship) were promoted to the intermediate championship and replaced Currow who were relegated.[5]
