Context: After her break at the end of 1999, Fey completed some remaining dates of the "El color de los sueños" tour, and then moved to New York, where after a few months of rest, she began to work on her next proposal completely led by herself and the team of producers she recruited for her new sound. In the middle of the year 2000, after making an advance of recordings and composition presented to Sony Music, this company, hurried a strategy to promote the return of the singer, budgeted for the middle of the year 2001, that is why in November of the year 2000 "éxitos" was launched with 15 tracks, that the Mexican singer had placed in the first positions in Latin America, even many were in the Latin Airplay and latin songs of Billboard magazine.

Commercial Performance: The original album started with modest sales, due to the lack of promotion, however when the album was launched in the rest of the continent, even in the USA, the sales increased and made noise, after the publication of articles in the printed and television media about Fey's return in 2001, where it was even revealed that it would be the definitive crossover of the artist to the Anglo-Saxon market.

The sales of the compilation were so good, that by almost the eve of 2001, it was re-released with an additional track, titled "Megamix" which included several of Fey's hits, which was intended only for Mexico, but the label decided to distribute the edition to the entire continent, obtaining a massive distribution, even greater than the original print run, causing this to be the best known edition.

Graphic concept: The album cover is the representation of pop, including spherical elements alluding to chewing gum, on an orange background, a clear reference to one of their most notable hits and using a photograph and logo from the era of "El color de los sueños". The graphic art was developed at Sony discos, for the United States, reusing 3D spheres previously used in the cover of the single "Él" which for the United States, was different from the Latin version.

Editions: In 2000 the international edition with 15 tracks is released, in 2000 is also released the edition with the bonus Megamix, only for Mexico. In 2003 the album was re-released as a souvenir of the brand Pétalo Sensation, where it is easily recognizable because the tray is black and its back cover includes the photo of the product; This edition is one of the least sought after by fans, due to this feature. In 2012, before the release of the album "Primera Fila Fey" sony reissued the album "éxitos" in CD format with the Megamix, for its collection "Línea Media" a super sales collection of the label, which collected a number of artists and international titles, that same year is released in digital for iTunes and other platforms.
