Located in Quezon City, Philippines. build and established in 1975, the 11-storey United Doctors Medical (UDMC) houses a 250-bed hospital and a school of nursing.

UDMC pioneered technological advancement in the field of ultrasonography and offered ultrasound services at very affordable prices. It installed the CTScan machine in Metro Manila; and acquired wireless ICU monitors, and 19 hemodialysis machines.

Endowed with a deep sense of commitment to public interest, UDMC’s stockholders want to set the tone for corporate social responsibility.

ULTRASOUND

UDMC is known to have upset industry players when it brought the price of ultrasound at P600.00 for plain ultrasound as against P 1,790.00 in another hospital; whole abdomen- P1,300.00 against P4,170.00 in another hospital.

CT-SCAN

A computerized axial tomography scan is an x-ray procedure that combines many x-ray images with the aid of a computer to generate cross-sectional views and, if needed, three-dimensional images of the internal organs and structures of the body. Computerized axial tomography is more commonly known by its abbreviated names, CT scan or CAT scan. A CT scan is used to define normal and abnormal structures in the body and/or assist in procedures by helping to accurately guide the placement of instruments or treatments.

Also, our CT-scan imaging services are lower at P2,900.00 for head as against P6,320.00 in another hospital.

HEMODIALYSIS

The hospital also introduced a new system in hemodialysis services that brought prices down for succeeding treatments. The first treatment costs only Php 2,700.00 while succeeding treatment is only Php 2,200.00 as against P9,300.00 for the first treatment and P7,360.00 in succeeding treatments in another hospital . Where else can you find the most reasonable price for this treatment?

Because of this it eventually led to the mushrooming of hemodialysis facilities in the country.

MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI), or magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to visualize detailed internal structures. MRI makes use of the property of Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to image nuclei of atoms inside the body.

MRI provides good contrast between the different soft tissues of the body, which make it especially useful in imaging the brain, muscles, the heart, and cancers compared with other medical imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT) or X-rays. Unlike CT scans or traditional X-rays, MRI uses no ionizing radiation.

MRI is lowest at P4,850.00 as against P9,000.00 - P12,000.00 in another hospital ; with contrast - P7,850.00 as against P 10,777.00 - P15,000.00 in another hospital.

MAMMOGRAM

An X-ray of the breast with the breast in a device that compresses and flattens it. There are two basic mammogram tests -- screening mammograms and diagnostic mammograms.

A screening mammogram is one done in women who have no signs of breast cancer. It usually involves two X-rays of each breast. The aim of a screening mammogram is to detect a tumor that cannot be felt. Most mammograms that are performed are screening mammograms.

Mammogram is lowest at P550.00 as against P2,900 in another hospital.

LAPAROSCOPIC OPERATION

It is also called keyhole surgery (when natural body openings are not used), bandaid surgery, or minimally invasive surgery (MIS), is a surgical technique. Medically, laparoscopic surgery refers only to operations within the abdomen or pelvic cavity.

Laparoscopic operation is lowest at P90,000.00 as against P150,000 in another hospital.

PERIMETRY

It is an examination of the discriminative powers of different parts of the retina often consisting of an adjustable semicircular arm with a fixation point for the eye and variable stations for the visual stimuli.

Perimetry is lowest at P1,600.00 as against P2,835.00 in another hospital.

2D ECHO

It is a common ultrasound-based diagnostic method in cardiology, which provides high-resolution, 'real time' images of the heart and great vessels; it is the noninvasive method of choice for diagnosing and managing congenital, pericardial, myocardial, cardiac valve disease; it is used to evaluate end-diastolic intraventricular dimensions, septal and free wall thickness and depressed ventricular function.

2D Echo with doppler is lowest at P 2,145.00 and plain at P 1,430.00 as against P7,900.00 in another hospital.
